Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to create a biography?
It depends entirely on you and the pace you want to set. Based on your package, the length of your biography, and how deeply you choose to answer each question, it can take anywhere from a few days to a year or more. What matters most is not speed but depth, so you can take your time and make the process fit comfortably into your life.
Do I need any technical skills?
Absolutely not - it was specifically developed for people with no technical skills. If you can use a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, you’re ready to go. Once your setup is complete, you’ll receive a secure link that takes you directly to your questions, where you can simply press a microphone button and start speaking at your own pace (typing is also an option if you prefer). There’s no software to learn or complexity involved—just record your answers, save them, and you’re done.
There isn’t anything particularly special about my life, is it still worth creating a biography?
Absolutely. Your story may not be meant for bookstores, but it is deeply meaningful for your family, your loved ones, and even for yourself over time. More than extraordinary achievements, what truly matters is preserving who you are, where you come from, and the experiences that shaped you—because that is what will be remembered and cherished.
What if I don’t know what to say?
Don’t worry: Legacia is designed to guide you with thoughtful, personal questions that naturally help your story unfold. It explores the right themes, asks follow-ups, and creates a comfortable space for you to share at your own pace. And if there are specific moments or topics you want to include, you’re always free to steer the conversation—after all, no one knows your story better than you do.
How often should I answer questions?
There’s no fixed rhythm—it’s entirely up to you and what feels right. You can spend several hours in one session or answer a single question whenever you have time, whether that’s daily or occasionally throughout the week. What matters most is choosing a quiet, comfortable moment where you can reflect without distractions, so your memories can come naturally.
What makes a story worth reading?
A compelling story is one that feels personal, vivid, and complete. The more you share details—your emotions, thoughts, sensations, and specific moments—the more your story comes to life for the reader. Rather than giving short or factual answers, taking the time to open up and go deeper is what truly makes your story meaningful and memorable.
Can I focus my biography on a specific part of my life?
Yes, you can fully define the focus of your biography during the setup phase. Whether you want to explore your childhood, your career, or a specific relationship, you can clearly outline what you want to include—and what you prefer to leave out. Taking the time to set this direction carefully ensures your biography truly reflects your intentions and expectations.
What if there are questions or topics I don’t want to address?
You can set clear boundaries from the start during the setup phase by specifying topics, periods, or people you prefer not to include. At any point in the process, you are also free to skip any question that feels uncomfortable or irrelevant to you. This is your story, and you remain in full control of what you choose to share.
Why choose Legacia instead of a traditional biographer?
Legacia offers several key advantages over traditional biographers, starting with cost—typically up to 90% more affordable than hiring a professional. It also provides a more comfortable experience, allowing you to share your story privately, without the pressure or presence of another person. Finally, it gives you complete flexibility: no scheduling, no commuting, and no hourly fees—just the freedom to record your story anytime, at your own pace.
What if I’ve shared something I later regret including in my biography?
You can make changes at multiple stages of the process. Before saving any answer, you can review and edit your response as much as needed until you are fully comfortable with it. In addition, once your biography is compiled, you’ll have a final review phase where you can revise or remove any content before the book is finalized.
Will I be able to print my book?
Yes—once your biography is complete, you’ll receive a digital version that you can use and share however you like. You’ll also have the option to order printed copies, fully customized with your preferred cover, layout, and photos. These can be delivered directly to your home at a preferential price.
What if I want to delete my account?
You have full control over your account at all times. From your account settings, you can request a permanent deletion of your account and all associated data. Please note that this action is irreversible—once deleted, all your recordings, written content, and uploaded materials will be permanently lost, so make sure you are certain before proceeding.
Can I sell my book?
Yes—you retain full ownership of your biography and everything it contains. Once your manuscript is finalized, it is entirely yours to use as you wish, including selling or distributing it. Legacia does not claim any copyright over your content, giving you complete freedom over how it is shared.
Will it just be a collection of interviews, or a proper biography?
Legacia creates a real biography, not just raw transcripts of your interviews. Your spoken answers are carefully crafted into a well-written, cohesive narrative that reads like a true book. The result is polished, engaging, and ready to share with loved ones.
How does it work?
You start by configuring your project and suggesting any topics or questions you’d like to include. Then, you go through the interviews at your own pace, with the option to upload photos and provide additional input to help shape your story. Once everything is collected, your biography is written, reviewed by you for final edits, and delivered as a designed digital book, with the option to order professionally printed copies.
How many questions do I need to answer to complete my book?
The number of questions matters far less than the depth of your answers. A few detailed, thoughtful responses filled with anecdotes and personal insights can be enough to build a rich biography. On the other hand, shorter or more surface-level answers may require many more questions to achieve the same result.
Will all the details I provide be used in my biography?
Not necessarily. Everything you share helps build a deeper understanding of your story, but part of the biographer’s role is to select what best serves the narrative. Even when some details are not included directly, they still play an important role in shaping the overall tone, depth, and authenticity of your biography.
Do I need to review every answer I’ve recorded once it’s transcribed?
No, it’s not required, but you’re welcome to if you’d like extra peace of mind. Our transcription is highly accurate, though occasional mistakes can occur with names, accents, or background noise. You’ll still have a final chance to review the full manuscript before the book is finalized, which is the most important step for catching anything you’d like to correct.
Is the number of pages mentioned in my package accurate?
Not exactly—it’s an estimate rather than a strict target. The final length of your book will depend on how rich and detailed your answers are, as well as how many photos you choose to include. Above all, a good biography is about telling a clear, meaningful story that feels complete, not about matching an exact page count.
